National Security Ministry renders harmless persons smuggling narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Shamil Azizaliyev, unidentified Iranians and others smuggled a great deal of narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan.

It was found out that the citizens of Iran smuggled approximately 62kg hashish and 800g heroin from Iran, brought to Mikayilli village and handed over to Azizaliyev. Azizaliyev hid the drugs in the cellar of his house in Mikayilli village and awaited the instructions to hand them over to the persons whom the Iranians will say. Shamil Azizaliyev was detained as a result of the operations, the narcotic drugs were found in his house in Mikayilli village.

The Ministry of National Security prevented one more drug trafficking case. Azerbaijani citizen Rauf Mammadov, as well as still investigated Iranian citizen and others were in agreement and smuggled large deal of narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan. The Iranian citizen crossed the Iranian-Azerbaijani border with drugs on Mammadovâ€™s order and delivered it to Mammadov in Azerbaijan. Mammadov was detained by the security officers when he attempted to hid the drugs. 41 kg 710 g hashish was found there.

Investigative Office of the Ministry of National Security launched criminal investigation under articles 206.3.2 (drug smuggling on preliminary arrangement by group of persons) and 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code.

Operational searches and investigation are going on for discovering other members of the criminal group and other law violations committed by them.
