23 trespassers detained in October

Baku â€“ APA. 14 cases of illegal border crossing were identified in Azerbaijan and 23 trespassers were detained last month by the state border guard, press service of the State Border Service told APA. 11 of border crossers were citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 4 â€“ Bangladesh, two â€“ from each of Iran, Georgia, Pakistan, Afghanistan.

497 were detained for violation of border regime in 287 cases, 147 â€“ for visa violations in 93 cases, 40 â€“ for expired visas in 32 cases, 37 â€“ for absence of documents in 24 cases, 15 â€“ for expired passports in 14 cases.

90 wanted persons were detained and handed over to the law-enforcement bodies.

As a result of measures against drug trafficking, 2 kg 78.6 g of narcotic drugs were confiscated in 7 cases.

As a result of anti-smuggle operations, the contraband worth of 171 435 AZN, as well as 6 sport gun, 18 bullets, 940 g jewelries, 16 boats, three boat engines, 39537 fishing lines, 16122 meters of fishing net, 2780 kg fish, 279 mobile phones, 4640 boxes of cigarettes, different drugs, alcohol drinks and foods were detained.
