Persons smuggling narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan arrested, 125kg drugs seized
Under the instructions of Hajirza Eyvazov, Zahid Hamdamov received the narcotic drugs smuggled in Azerbaijan by the citizens of Iran and handed over to Hajirza. Later, his other relative Ganbar Saliyev brought the narcotic drugs in UAZ owned by Hatem Aliyev to Kijebe village of Astara. As a result of the measures taken by the ministry Hajirza Eyvazov, Zahid Hamdamov, Ganbar Saliyev and Hatem Aliyev were detained, about 65kg hashish was found in the car.
As a result of other operations carried out by the National Security Ministry, Azerbaijanis – Igdam Aliyev, 33, and Agil Aliyev, 32, were detained, 37kg hashish and approximately 5kg opium were seized. It was found out that Igdam Aliyev told Agil Aliyev to receive a great deal of narcotic drugs to be smuggled from Iran to Azerbaijan and take to Baku, he promised to give him $2000 for this. Agil Aliyev accepted the proposal.
A citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose identity is investigated, smuggled drugs to Azerbaijan, saved it in Sutamurdov village of Lankaran region and informed Igdam Aliyev about that. Igdam Aliyev urged Agil Aliyev to take drugs from that place and to bring to him. Agil Aliyev drove his VAZ-2106 to that place where the narcotic drugs were saved and he was detained while taking two packages of 37 kg hashish and 5 kg opium.
As a result of another anti-drug operation conducted by the Ministry of National Security, citizens of Azerbaijan – Aziz Jabbarov, 29 and Vusal Aliyev, 30 were detained and 18 kg 396 g hashish was found in Aliyev’s car.
Vusal Aliyev organized smuggling of narcotic drugs purchased in the Islamic Republic of Iran in October, 2009 with the support of Iranian citizen, whose identity is under the investigation. According to Vusal Aliyev’s order, Aziz Jabbarov received the drugs on October 22, 2009 near Baku from the persons, whose identity is investigated. Vusal Aliyev received the drugs back from Aziz Jabbarov when he returned from Iran and saved it in the baggage of his BMW.
A criminal investigation was launched on all three facts under the articles 206.3.2 (drug smuggling on preliminary arrangement with a group of persons), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement with a group of persons in a large amount) of the Criminal Code.
Necessary investigative actions and operational searches are continued for discovering of all unlawful cases and actions.
