Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. The number of grave crimes has increased in Azerbaijan in January-September, 2009, APA reports quoting the Interior Ministry. Premeditated murder reduced by 4.2% (-5; 115-120), brigandage by 15.3% (-23; 127-150), human trafficking by 13.4% (-44; 285-329), blackmail by 33.3% (-11; 22-33) within nine months of 2009. No crime related to hostage taking was recorded in the reporting period.
Grave crimes increased by 50 facts (+2.9%; 1765-1715), less grave crimes by 531 facts (+7.8%; 7333-6802), theft by 263 facts (+11%; 2640-2377), burglary by 138 facts (+19%; 838-700), illicit turnover of drugs and psychotropic agents by 223 facts (+9.8%; 2510-2287), sale and purchase of drugs and psychotropic agents by 80 facts (+9.1%; 960-880), plunder by 28 facts (+11%; 283-255).
No crime related to hostage taking recorded in Azerbaijan this year
