Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Azerbaijanis fought together with Taliban against the Azerbaijani peacekeepers in Afghanistan were sentenced. The Court of Grave Crimes finalized the trial of Azerbaijani citizens Vugar Huseynov and Rauf Abdullayev, who joined Taliban illegal armed groups in Pakistan and Afghanistan. They were sentenced to six months imprisonment.
Husyenov and Abdullayev participated in the military trainings in Pakistan and Afghanistan in 2008. They were charged with articles 279.1 and 318 of the Criminal Code. They also participated together with Taliban fighters in the battles against the Azerbaijani peacekeepers. Husyenov and Abdullayev were arrested this year by the Ministry of National Security.
