Interior Ministry and General Prosecutorâ€™s Office issues joint statement on operation in Aghdash region

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijani Interior Ministry and General Prosecutorâ€™s Office issued a joint statement on the operation carried out in Aghdash region to render harmless the person, who resisted to the police, later killed one and wounded the other, Interior Ministryâ€™s press service told APA. The statement says that on October 18, Aghdash region police carried out an operation to detain wanted resident of Kotavan village Ruzman Huseynov. Ruzman Huseynov fired at the police with the illegal gun, threw a hand grenade on them, attempted to kill the persons on the line of duty and escaped.

At 22.30 Huseynov killed Bakhshali Seyfalov in revenge, fired at Abdulla Ahmadov, Eynulla Islamov and Famil Ahmadov, who came after hearing the shots. Famil Ahmadov was wounded.

Department for Investigating Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case on the fact, investigation group was set up.

On October 23, the police received information that Ruzman Huseynov was hiding in the forest in Kotavan village. As a result of the operations, at first the criminal surrendered, then he attempted to flee and was rendered harmless.

Investigation is underway.
