Prosecutor demands imprisonment of â€œForest brothersâ€

Karamat Aliyev presided over the hearing. Prosecutor Murvat Hasanov demanded imprisonment of defendants â€“ 15 years for each of Elnur Bashirov, Gudrat Malikov, Khalid Valimatov, Ulfat Malikov, Vahid Asadov and Russian citizen Magomed Isayev, 10 years for each of Kamran Bozorgi, Zabit Shikhbabayev, Samir Babayev, Anar Valimatov, 9 years for each of Fariz Mammadov, Rasim Isgandarov, Taleh Maharramov, Elshan Allahverdiyev, 8 years for each of Rafig Aghacanov, Zaur Jafarov, Azer Bakhishov, 7 years for each of Teymur Narimanov, Alexander Nuraliyev, Mammad Mammadov, Elkhan Osmanov, Rufat Rzayev, Sardar Bunyadov, as well as Turkish citizen Yamin Ali and 3 years for Turkish citizen Ozademir Ergin.

The defendants are accused of committing explosion in Abu Bakr mosque and other crimes. They faced charges under Articles 214 (terrorism), 120 (premeditated murder), 279 (creation of armed formations or groups, which are not provided by the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic), 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives) of the Criminal Code. 26 were detained during the initial investigation.
