Azerbaijan State Border Service strengthens security on the Caspian Sea

The coast guard ships, technical array and coastal stations are seriously controlling the ships, boats and other navigation means and observing the floating areas and ways as well, press center of the State Border Service told APA. As a result of security measures, residents of Baku â€“ Alim Babayev, 55, Sergei Orachov, 36 and Orkhan Jabbarov, 35 were detained on October 5, when they took the sea without allowance and were illegally fishing near the Mardakan coasts using unauthorized methods. They used explosives during the fishing and took 200kg fish. Different chemical substances, blasting fuse were found in the Orachovâ€™s house and an accumulator, projector and fishing-rod were found in their boat. The investigative department of the State Border Service launched criminal investigation against them.
The State Border Service is continuing preventive measures against the using of explosives during the fishing, which can seriously damage the oil and gas production infrastructure on the sea.
