Tartar. Teymour Zahidoglu – APA. Unexploded shells were found in Hasangaya village of Azerbaijan’s Tartar region. Chief of the Civil Defense Staff of Tartar Region Ilgar Musayev told APA Grad rocket projectile and 125-mm caliber cannon shell were found near the IDP school No. 117. Field engineers of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) and representatives of the Mine Victims’ Association of Tartar Region established by the International Eurasia Press Fund are working at site.
Musayev said recent intensive rains caused floods which brought a lot of mines and shells from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and neutral territories of contact line between the troops. Two unexploded anti-tank mines PMN-72 were found on Thursday in Tartar River, but rising water prevented the field engineers to disarm the mines. The territory is under the control now.
Experts said they would disarm the mines when water level fell in the river.
