â€œForest Brothersâ€ trial hears witnesses

Baku. Ramil Mammadli â€“ APA. Hearing on the case of the 26-men organized gang, which is accused of forming a group â€œForest brothersâ€, committing a number of crimes, including terror attack on Abu Bakr mosque in Narimanov district continued in the Court of Grave Crimes on Monday. APA reports that Karamat Aliyev presided over the hearing. Witness Samad Babayev gave testimony at the court on the case of defendant Elnur Bashirov. Defendant Kamran Bozorgi said the court was under pressure. He demanded to finalize the trail and issue verdict soon.

The court hearing will continue on October 1.

The defendants are accused of committing explosion in Abu Bakr mosque and other crimes. They faced charges under Articles 214 (terrorism), 120 (premeditated murder), 279 (creation of armed formations or groups, which are not provided by the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic), 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives) of the Criminal Code. 26 were detained during the initial investigation.
