Court rejects petition in trial of “Forest brothers” to summon National Security Ministry inspector

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Hearing on the case of the 26-men organized gang, which is accused of forming a group “Forest brothers”, committing a number of crimes, including terror attack on Abu Bakr mosque in Narimanov district continued in the Court of Grave Crimes. APA reports that Karamat Aliyev presided over the hearing. Agakishiyev Samir Bashir, who witnessed Rafig Agajanov’s detention, gave testimony again. Defendant Elnur Bashirov petitioned for summoning the inspector of the National Security Ministry Eldar Ismayilov saying that the law was violated during the initial investigation. The court rejected the petition.

The hearing will continue on September 28.

The defendants faced charges under Articles 214 (terrorism), 120 (premeditated murder), 279 (creation of armed formations or groups, which are not provided by the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic), 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives) of the Criminal Code. 26 were detained during the initial investigation.
