Witnesses give testimony in AZAL computer attackers’ trial

The Court of Grave Crimes continued hearing of criminal case of Azerbaijani and Nigerian citizens attacked Azerbaijan Air Lines (AZAL) computer network causing 100 000 AZN damage on the company, APA reports. Witness Yelena Malikova gave testimony at the hearing presided by Judge Novruz Karimov. The witness said last year she bought a ticket to Moscow at discount.
“I do not know where they bought the tickets. I paid $300 for two tickets,” she said.
Defendant Saida Mammadova’s mother Tatyana Javanshir said she bought a ticket with the help of her daughter. She said she was unaware of the crime.

The hearing will continue on September 18.

According to the indictment, Azerbaijani citizens – Shamsaddin Abdurrahmanov, Vagif Mirzazadeh, Tahir Amirguliyev, Elyar Gojazadeh, Nazim Hasanov, Ahliman Mammadov, Murad Mahmoudov, Ata Abdullayev, Saida Mammadova and Nigerian citizen Mutiu Olovu Olanlevaju and other foreigners, whose identity is investigated now, illegally entered into the computer center of Azerbaijan Air Lines via Internet and illegally used credit cards of US citizens and other foreigners to purchase air tickets via Internet and sold these tickets at low prices to other persons.
The defendants faced charges under articles 271.2.1 and 271.2.3 (illegal access to the computer information on preliminary arrangement by group of persons with causing damage in the large amount) and 177.3.1. (theft that is secret plunders of another persons property by organized group with causing damage in large size) of the Criminal Code.
