General Rail Rzayevâ€™s imprisoned aide has health problems, term of his sonâ€™s arrest prolonged by two months

The term of his son Anar Rafiyevâ€™s arrest has been prolonged by two months. The Rafiyevsâ€™ relatives told APA about it.

They said Aydin Rafiyev was transferred from National Security Ministryâ€™s detention facility to the Justice Ministryâ€™s medical unit some days ago. He reportedly suffers heart pains.

The term of Anar Rafiyevâ€™s arrest has been prolonged by two months, Anar Rafiyevâ€™s lawyer Aslan Ismayilov told APA.

Islamyilov said they are dissatisfied with the investigation of the criminal case carried out by Department for Investigating Grave Crimes of Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office and added that some days ago Nasimi district court passed a decision to prolong the term of Anar Rafiyevâ€™s arrest.
â€œFirst of all I must say that the accusations brought against my client are groundless. Anar is innocent, on the other hand, there are violations of law in the investigation. I appealed to Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov in connection with this,â€ he said.

Aydin Rafiyev and his son Anar Rafiyev were arrested on April 16. The investigative group of the Grave Crime Investigation Office of the Republican Prosecutorâ€™s Office searched the Rafiyevâ€™s house and Mitsubishi Pajero owned by his family. They found Rzayevâ€™s jacket and license number of his car in the Rafiyevâ€™s car. Anar Rafiyev faced charges under articles 177 (robbery) and 179 (embezzlement) and court sentenced him to two months in jail.

The defendants said the registration number 10 00 HM owned by Defense Ministry and generalâ€™s winter jacket, which were found in the car, had been given by Bakhtiyar Alasgarov, personal driver of Rail Rzayev, to Aydin Rafiyev for returning to the ministry. Rafiyev did not hand them over to the Defense Ministry.

Rail Rzayev was killed near secondary school No. 172 in Ismayil bey Gutgashinli Street, 300-400m far from his house in Inshaatchilar Avenue in Yasamal district of Baku at 07.30 on February 11, 2009. The Republic Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case on the fact on articles 120.2.5 (deliberate murder committed on mercenary prompting or by order, as well as with a view of use a body of a victim) and 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) of the Criminal Code.
