Ideal newspaper editor-in-chief faces new charges

According to the new charges, he is accused under Articles 182.2 (Extortion), 182.2.3 (extortion with use of force), 182.3.2 (extortion with a purpose of occupying large size of property), 221.1 (hooliganism) and 234.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances).
The case will be heard by judge Azer Orujov on September 18.

On May 20, Nazim Guliyev was acquitted from the charge under Article 147.2 (slander, which is connected with accusation of committing serious or especially serious crime) but was given six months in prison on insult charges under Article 148.
The lawsuit was filled by Tenzila Rustemkhanli, chairwoman of Azeri-Turk Women Association, and another woman named Sabina Mahmudova.
