Witnesses give testimony in AZAL computer attackers’ trial

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. The Court of Grave Crimes continued hearing of criminal case of Azerbaijani and Nigerian citizens attacked Azerbaijan Air Lines (AZAL) computer network causing 100 000 AZN damage on the company, APA reports. Witnesses Nahid Rzayev and Natig Abdullayev gave testimony at the court presided over by Judge Novruz Karimov. Rzayev said he knew defendant Ata Abdullayev, who helped him to buy air tickets to Kuwait via Internet at the low price.
The hearing will continue on September 16.
According to indictment, Azerbaijani citizens – Shamsaddin Abdurrahmanov, Vagif Mirzazadeh, Tahir Amirguliyev, Elyar Gojazadeh, Nazim Hasanov, Ahliman Mammadov, Murad Mahmoudov, Ata Abdullayev, Saida Mammadova and Nigerian citizen Mutiu Olovu Olanlevaju and other foreigners, whose identity is investigated now, illegally entered into the computer center of Azerbaijan Air Lines via Internet and illegally used credit cards of US citizens and other foreigners to purchase air tickets via Internet and sold these tickets at low prices to other persons.
The defendants are accused under articles 271.2.1 and 271.2.3 (illegal access to the computer information on preliminary arrangement by group of persons with causing damage in the large amount) and 177.3.1. (theft that is secret plunders of another persons property by organized group with causing damage in large size) of the Penal Code of Azerbaijan.
The hearing will continue on September 16.
