Prosecutor demands sentence for Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah members planning terrorist attacks in Azerbaijan

Ilgar Murguzov presided over the hearing. Public prosecutor Ehtiram Bakhshaliyev demanded sentence â€“ 15 years of imprisonment for Karaki Ali Mohammad and Najmaddin Ali Huseyn, 14 years for Cavid Mammadov and Vidadi Rasulov and 13 years for Mushfig Amanov and Afghan Hajiyev.

The hearing will continue on September 23.

According to the indictment, the group members declared Jihad against the policy of US, Israel and other Western countries. They prepared plan to attack the Israeli embassy from several directions at the same time. They rented apartment opposite to the Israeli embassy and Jewish Cultural Center in Baku. The group members were detained before realizing their plans.

Lebanese citizens â€“ Karaki Ali Mohammad, Najmaddin Ali Huseyn and Azerbaijani citizens â€“ Mammadov Javad Mammadrasul, Rasulov Vidadi Rahil, Amanov Mushfig Eyyub, Balashov Afghan Yunus face with charges under articles of the Penal Code for spying, treason, illegal arms bearing and other articles.
