He said 16 decisions have been passed since Azerbaijan became member of the Council of Europe. “It is not so much. There are some countries that the court passes 200-300 decisions on them every year. I don’t say that everything is good, but we try to make everything better. The European Court doesn’t look at the essence, it reviewed the procedure issues and we implement the decisions univocally”. Rzayev said penalty duties set up by the Court were completely fulfilled.

The Supreme Court Chairman said they were communicating with the European Court over more than 30 cases. “These cases concern mostly the fulfillment of court decisions and property issues. Nearly 100 appeals were sent to the Court so far and only 35 of them are in the communication. Our supreme goal is that the local courts protect the citizens in so high level that they don’t need to appeal the European Court”.
