Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. Azerbaijani parliamentarian publicized why a 29-year-old woman attempted to burn herself outside the local police office in Gadabay. MP from Gadabay Nazim Mammadov told APA that resident of Soyudlu village Minari Karimova did it because of the indifference of the local executive body. The parliamentarian said earlier he had received Minari Karimova, together with her children and disabled husband.
â€œThe region court passed a decision to expel Minari Karimova from her house. The house conflict occurred between Minari Karimovaâ€™s husband and his sister, ex-prisoner. Her sister-in-law said she inherited the house from her mother. The court passed a decision basing on the testament. Gandja appeals court rejected their appeal. But there are doubts over the validity of the testament, because the person, who made it, died,â€ he said.

Mammadov said Karimova faced with indifferences of organizations she addressed. â€œHer husband was injured during repairing of that house and became disabled. They demanded bribe to give him degree of disabled. I addressed the local hospital on this issue. They are not my voters indeed, but I couldnâ€™t remain indifference to the problem of helpless familyâ€.

MP said he materially supported Karimova and sent her back to the village. He said the problem arose when Karimova gathered potatoes she planted in the yard of that house. â€œMinari Karimova called me and said she faced with pressure by law-enforcement bodies and her disabled husband was beaten. The woman burned herself in a protest to these developments. If local authorities closely addressed the problem of this family, there wouldnâ€™t be such tragedyâ€.

Press officer of the Interior Ministry Elshan Zahidov told APA local prosecutorâ€™s office is investigating the fact and it will get its legal value after the investigation. â€œThere is a groundless claim that police beat this woman. This family has property disputes with their relatives. Police saved Minari Karimovaâ€™s life when she attempted to suicideâ€.
