Elchin Behbudov monitors temporary detention facilities of police offices in western regions

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Chief of Azerbaijani Committee against Torture Elchin Behbudov monitored the temporary detention facilities of police offices in western regions. The committee chief told APA that he visited temporary detention facilities of police offices in 14 regions. Behbudov said compared with the previous years a number of problems were solved.
â€œUnfortunately, there still are problems in some police offices. I will give information about it to Interior Minister Ramil Usubov. I believe that Mr. Usubov will do his best to solve the problems,â€ he said.

â€œDuring the monitoring it became known that most of the detainees are accused of illicit drug turnover and drug abuse. I should say that most of the detainees in Berde and Gazakh police offices were servicemen,â€ Elchin Behbudov said.
The committee chief said the servicemen are accused of treating the soldiers badly and taking bribes from them.
