Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. There are two Azerbaijanis on board the “Duden” that underwent attack of pirates in Nigeria, Turkey’s Undersecretariat for Maritime Affairs told APA.

Undersecretariat said all crew members, including Azerbaijanis feel normal.

The ship has not reached land yet. The ship will reach Port Harcourt by the end of the day, if an agreement is reached.

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry appealed to Turkish Foreign Ministry and asked to contact the Azerbaijanis, who underwent pirates’ attack in the “Duden” ship, and offer them necessary assistance through Turkey’s embassy in Nigeria.

“As Azerbaijan has no embassy in Nigeria, the Foreign Ministry appealed to Turkish Foreign Ministry,” the Foreign Ministry’s press service said.

The “Duden” sailing under the flag of Turkey underwent attack by pirates in Nigeria on August 2. There are 10 Turkish citizens, 2 Azerbaijanis, 2 Georgians and 9 Nigerians on board the ship.
