Two of servicemen arrested over General Rail Rzayevâ€™s murder released

Baku Military Court passed a decision to release chief of Medical Service of Military Air Forces and Air Defense Troops, Lieutenant-Colonel Natig Ibayev and other officer of the Military Air Forces, Captain Ramin Nagiyev. The servicemen will continue their work.

Rail Rzayev was killed near secondary school No. 172 in Ismayil bey Gutgashinli Street, 300-400m far from his house in Inshaatchilar Avenue in Yasamal district of Baku at 07.30 on February 11, 2009. The Republic Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case on the fact on articles 120.2.5 (deliberate murder committed on mercenary prompting or by order, as well as with a view of use a body of a victim) and 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) of the Criminal Code.

Soon after the murder, Rail Rzayevâ€™s aide Aydin Rafiyev and his son Anar Rafiyev, the generalâ€™s close relative Lieutenant-Colonel Fuad Agarzayev, chief of Medical Service of Military Air Forces and Air Defense Troops, Lieutenant-Colonel Natig Ibayev and several other officers of the Military Air Forces were arrested.
