11175 crimes committed in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2009

There were 4678 trivial offences, 4835 less grave and 1165 grave crimes. 3763 crimes were committed against the persons, 3026 â€“ in the economic fields, 2838 â€“ against the property, 3438 â€“ against the public order and security and 451 â€“ against the state power.
The interior offices cleared up 85.9% of the crimes, 100% of smuggling, 97.1% - against the persons, 95.1% of the environmental crimes, 94.3% of human trafficking, 93.8% of sexual crimes, 95.1% of fatal road accidents, 72.7% of kidnapping, 68.8% of robberies.
Deliberate murders were reduced by 9.9% in January-June 2009 as again the similar period of 2008, robbery- 22.8%, human trafficking â€“ 25.8%, kidnapping â€“ 6.7%, racketing â€“ 18.2%, swindle- 2.1% and there were no hostage incidents.
However the grave crimes, residential burglaries, illicit drug trafficking, carjacking and robbery were increased. 371 people were killed in the road accidents.
134 persons were brought to justice for human trafficking. Such crimes against the women were reduced 15.9% and 68.7% of the persons committed those crimes were women.
227 grave crimes committed in previous years were cleared up, 193 persons were arrested and location of 451 of 762 wanted persons was identified.
Totally 7184 persons were brought to justice in the first half of 2009.
