Baku – APA. The longest solar eclipse of the century occurred on Wednesday, APA reports. The moon passed between the Earth and the sun and the total eclipse started over the western coasts of India, Bay of Cambay at 05.51 by Baku time. The moon’s shadow had an extraordinary length this time – 205 km. It was observed in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan, then in China. Then the moon’s shadow crossed the Pacific and moved alongside the South American coasts. The total eclipse was seen in the Pacific only in the Marshall Islands. It lasted for 6 minutes and 39 seconds and ended at 09.12 by Baku time. This moment it was seen only in the open sea. The tourists flow to Wuhan and Shanghai, China to see the eclipse, but the cloudy weather prevented them to enjoy with the extraordinary view.
