Azerbaijani crew members of the ship Mira detained in India to return home in 2-3 days

He said representatives of the Azerbaijani embassy in India met with them on Friday and started to prepare their documents. Gasimov said the crew members are under police control now. “They don’t allow us to leave the hotel”.

Captain of the ship, Turkish citizen Hasan Sandigchi told APA that the Turkish embassy also addressed their problems and started to prepare the documents of Turkish crew members as well. Sandigchi said the sip owners didn’t show interest to their fate. “The ship is on the ocean. It will sink if it is not towed to the coast”. Sandigchi said 40 percent of the ship owned by Turkey-based Mira Navigation and 60 percent by Mako Navigation companies.

Azerbaijani ambassador to India Tamerlan Garayev told APA the documents of the Azerbaijani crew members of the ship are prepared. “If the documents are ready today, they will leave for Baku today”.

There are eight Azerbaijanis among the 24 crew members of the ship Mira detained in the Indian waters. The crew members left the sinking ship on May 20.
