Prosecutor demands sentence for persons accused of killing Naila and Reyhana Majidova sisters
Parents of Naila and Reyhana Majidovas demanded life sentence for Tavakkul, Elnur and Elchin Ismayilov brothers. The representatives of the sufferers also threatened to kill the brothers: “We take revenge.â€
Following this, the defendants’ lawyers addressed the hearing. They said their clients’ guilt had not been proved completely. They said deputy chief of Devechi region police office Mammadmusa Musayev, who was mentioned in the criminal case, was not involved in the process and asked the court to acquit Tavakkul, Elnur and Elchin Ismayilov brothers.
Tavakkul Ismayilov did not speak saying he was not ready. He asked 15 days to prepare his speech. The court passed a decision to continue the hearing on June 4.
Tavakkul, Elnur and Elchin Ismayilov brothers are accused of killing Naila and Reyhana Majidovas, residents of Dagh Biliji village of Devechi region. According to the indictment, they faced charges under articles 120.1 (premeditated murder), 149 (raping), 150.2.3 (violent actions of sexual nature against juvenile), 127.1 (deliberate causing of less serious harm to the health), 144.3 (kidnapping), 177 (robbery), 178 (swindling) and 221 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms) of the Criminal Code. Ismayilov brothers killed Majidova sisters and threw their bodies into Samur-Absheron channel. Naila Majidova’s body was found in Siyazan part of Samur-Absheron channel on August 9, Reyhana Majidova’s body has not been found yet.
