Azerbaijani swine flu suspect detained on Turkey border

Azerbaijani Fuzuli Karimov was suspected of being infected with N1H1 (swine flu) and detained while crossing to Igdir through Dilucu checkpoint.

Karimov was examined in Igdir state hospital and tested negative for swine flu. It was found out that he had an ordinary flu.

At first the people in the hospital hearing of swine flu infected person panicked, they calmed down when the results of the examination were announced.

Karimov said he left Nakhchivan for Igdir to go to Istanbul.
“I was to go to Istanbul, but the police detained me and brought to hospital. I have been feeling sick for two days, they said I had a flu. I will go to Istanbul after I recover,” he said.

Igdir governor Saim Saffet made a written statement on the incident. He said the man tested negative for swine flu, he suffered ordinary flu.
