Prosecutor demands sentence for Kamran Asadov and other members of radical religious group

APA reports that judge Islam Neymanov presided over the process. Public prosecutor Oruj Jalilov made speech at the hearing. He noted that Kamran Asadov began to form an organized group under the pretext of defending Islam in 1996. They began to hold trainings since 2006. The public prosecutor said Ilkin Ismayilov was instigator, Kamran Asadov and Kamran Babayev were organizers. Other members of the organized group also participated in armed crimes to some extent. Prosecutor demanded 15-year imprisonment for Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehraliyev, Vugar Aliyev, 13-year imprisonment for Tarlan Karimov, Ramil Karimov, Yashar Maharramov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, 12-year imprisonment for Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Orkhan Alizadeh, Azer Ibadov, Ramin Jalilov, 7-year imprisonment for Edgar Aliyev, Hajibala Huseynov, 2 years and six months for Shahriyar Maharramov and 7-year imprisonment for Ilkin Ismayilov. The hearing will continue on May 21.

Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehraliyev, Tarlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yalchin Maharramov, Orkhan Alizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Maharramov, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
