Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan: "The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and TANAP will be the largest projects of the 21st century"

The Ambassador noted that Ilham Aliyev paid his first official visit to Turkey after he was re-elected for the third time and it has become a tradition. Speaking about how this visit will affect the bilateral relations, the diplomat said that 7 documents were signed in various spheres during a meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council held within the visit: “These documents have become a kind of road map and we will go forward in this way in the near future. We will try to increase the volume of trade turnover to $15 billion till 2023. We also considered what we can do in the defense industry. As you know, TAI company was visited and the attack helicopter and drones made by Turkish engineers were inspected. All this allows assessing the new opportunities in bilateral defense relations. In general, this visit has actually demonstrated our fraternal ties.”

Speaking about the further projects, Alper Coskun said that if the implemented Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline was the largest project of the 20th century, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and TANAP will be the largest projects of the 21^st century: “He also touched upon the projects to construct railway and gas pipeline to Nakhchivan.”

Touching on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the ambassador stated that Turkey will continue contributing to the soonest resolution of this problem within the international norms.
