Kiev hosts 22nd meeting of GUAM Council of Foreign Ministers

APA’s correspondent in Kiev reports that the foreign ministers exchanged views on mutual political cooperation, cooperation in GUAM+ format and draft resolution “Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development”.

Noting the importance of the communiqué adopted on 29 November at the joint meeting of the GUAM Foreign Ministers and the Lithuanian Foreign Minister, the Council of Foreign Ministers decided to develop the active cooperation of GUAM with the EU member states.

The Council also discussed issues of a comprehensive cooperation between GUAM member states in the fields of trade, economy, energy, as well as GUAM cooperation with other states and international organizations.

Moldova took over GUAM Presidency. Azerbaijan was represented by Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
