Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen has issued a statement on Iranian citizen Hassan Faraji, detained on suspicion of planning an attack on the Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan. The Ambassador told APA that they met him already and the situation is good.
Ayeen added that Faraji didn’t accept the accusations: “This is some propagation rumors usually Israelis do to harm our relations. There is no value of this information. He is a trader, for some misunderstanding he was arrested, I think everything will be ok.
This will not affect our relations. I will try my best as an ambassador to prevent any affection.”
Iran’s embassy in Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the Iranian citizen Hassan Faraji detained in our country. According to the statement, on November 20 consul of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with Hassan Faraji. The consul said his condition is normal.
The detainee expressed his gratitude to Iran for being attentive to its citizens and asked to inform his family that his condition is normal. He rejected the accusations brought against him and expressed his hope that his innocence will be proved.
Iran’s consul to Azerbaijan said Hassan Faraji’s condition is normal, measures are underway to release him.
The embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan learned about the arrest of the Iranian citizen two weeks ago from media and sent a note to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry asking to give necessary permission to Iran’s consul to meet with him. The meeting took place two weeks later.
An incident occurred at Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan on October 31. 31-year old citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Behlul Faraji, who is temporarily registered at Uzeyir Hajibeyov st. of Sabayil district, came to Israeli Embassy at Izmir st. at about 19:30. Iranian citizen attracted the attention of patrol officers for suspicious behavior. Officer of post-patrol detachment of Yasamal District Police Office, police sergeant Vusal Aghamali Mirzayev tried to detain that person. However, the Iranian citizen ignored legal requirements of the police and this caused a confrontation. Following this, Faraji was detained, taken to police station and to court. Faraji was sentenced to 30 days imprisonment.
