The statement says that the deep relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are based on common religion, brotherhood and neighborhood principles and this commonness draws these states closer.
The statement underlines that Iran wishes development and welfare to the Azerbaijani people.
“Iran and Azerbaijan are supporting each other on the international level. The cooperation between the two countries should be strong so that the third forces can not undermine Tehran-Baku relations,” the statement says.
Iran recognized Azerbaijan’s independence on March 12, 1992.
