Aslanova said that the Azerbaijanis, who are currently fighting under various armed groups in Syria, left the country earlier: “Our young people should know that serving as a mercenary in another country is the violation of law. The lack of information about the legislation and the influence of certain forces have led our young people to choose this way. Our young people are currently being educated, laws have been tightened. Our young people should know the basic provisions of our laws. I believe those who have left the country will return. They will have to answer before the law. We are concerned by the news about what is happening to the Azerbaijanis in Syria and the reports of deaths. I understand their parents. Nobody wants his child to die in a foreign country.”
Aslanova said the fact that Azerbaijani young people are fighting under various armed groups in Syria also negatively affects relations between the two countries.
