Carleton and the Azerbaijan Academy of Public Administration Sign Academic Cooperation Agreement

The two institutions have agreed to exchange professors and senior researchers to teach and collaborate on research and, eventually, to exchange students.

“The creation of new ideas that come from international sharing transmitted along bridges of understanding, constitutes an essential activity for universities,” said Carleton President Roseann O’Reilly Runte. “This program enhances our global future.”

“Our Tertiary Education Institutions are no longer limited to their physical campus,” said Prof. Urkhan Alakbarov, Rector of the Academy. “They must be part of a global network to educate and generate knowledge. The agreement with Carleton is an important link in that network.”

CGPM Director Leslie Pal thanked Walid Madhoun, member of the CGPM Advisory Board for facilitating the agreement. “CGPM is excited to extend its governance work to Azerbaijan, and to forge this new, fruitful link with the Academy.”

Reciprocal visits are expected to begin in the spring of 2014.
