Baku – APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano in The Hague, APA reports.
The sides noted that useful cooperation has been established between Azerbaijan and IAEA and Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in the nuclear security.
Yukuya Amano said there is a great potential to develop cooperation and enhance the relations in the treatment of radioactive wastes, welcomed Azerbaijan’s active participation in the events and summits on nuclear security.
President Ilham Aliyev touched upon the importance of nuclear security for our country, region and world. The Head of State said that Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia is a serious threat to the entire region.
