Azerbaijan elected as vice-president of UNESCO Committee for Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict

Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that new members of the Committee Bureau were elected at the beginning of the session. Belgium was elected as President of the Committee, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Cambodia and Mali as vice-presidents, Salvador as rapporteur.

Azerbaijan has been elected as a member of the Bureau for a second consecutive year. Azerbaijan’s re-election to the Bureau will allow determining the agenda of the upcoming session of the Committee in 2014, taking into account our national interests in the documents of the Committee, discussing Azerbaijan-initiated issue on the protection of cultural property in the occupied territories.
