Ali Hasanov: â€œThe state is using all possible means to prevent Azerbaijani citizens from joining the battles in Syriaâ€

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “Azerbaijan’s relevant government agencies are dealing with the issue on the citizens’ joining the battles in Syria,” head of political and public affairs department at the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov told APA.

Head of the Department noted that Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassies in foreign countries are dealing with this work, along with the security agencies: “As some international organizations are also involved in illegally mobilizing Azerbaijani young people, citizens and sending them to the world's various hot spots, including Syria, our embassies in foreign countries are dealing with this issue.”

He said that today Azerbaijan itself needs patriots, fighting for their territories: “Azerbaijan is not involved in the conflicts in Syria, nor has such an intention. Then why should our citizens become the victims of that conflict? Therefore, the state is trying to prevent such cases. It is a reality that some people are joining these battles under the influence of various internal and external forces and it is difficult to prevent all of them. The state is using all possible means to prevent such cases.”
