The initialing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia raises hopes for a long-term solution in the region, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said during his speech at the III International Eurasian Security Conference in Minsk, APA reports.
According to Lukashenko, progress has been made in recent times towards resolving a number of long-term conflicts, and this is an important step towards ensuring lasting peace in the region.
"Recently, it has been possible to reach solutions to a number of long-term conflicts, and I very much hope that these solutions will be long-term... Azerbaijan and Armenia have signed a peace agreement... This is a beginning, and we hope it is a good beginning," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
The Belarusian President emphasized that the two-year war in the Gaza Strip has ended and that this is only the beginning. Lukashenko said that the agreements reached can play a key role in ensuring stability in the region.
