Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has awarded Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev Kyrgyzstan's highest state honor, the Order of Manas, APA's correspondent dispatched to Kyrgyzstan reports.
Speaking at the ceremony for presenting the state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan, President Japarov praised the achievements Azerbaijan has made under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership.
Japarov said modern Azerbaijan is a strong state that plays an important role in international affairs. He noted that during Aliyev's presidency, the country has achieved significant progress in strengthening its statehood, developing its economy, and implementing large-scale projects.
The Kyrgyz president stressed that thanks to Ilham Aliyev's support and his unwavering efforts to bring the two countries closer together, the two brotherly nations have built a genuine strategic partnership based on strong friendship and shared development.
"Today, our relations have reached a qualitatively new level and have acquired the character of an alliance," he said.
Japarov also highlighted Aliyev's important role in strengthening ties between Central Asia and the South Caucasus. He noted that Azerbaijan's participation in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia creates new opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, transport, and energy.
The Kyrgyz leader further praised President Aliyev's consistent efforts to establish lasting peace in the region, strengthen stability, and foster a new environment for cooperation.
"Your commitment to strengthening the friendship between our countries commands great respect. It is precisely for this reason that I have decided to award my dear friend and brother, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev, the highest state award of the Kyrgyz Republic – the Order of Manas," Japarov said.
