Goran Lennmarker: â€œThe soonest solution to the regional conflicts is a topical issue todayâ€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayevâ€“APA. Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov received on Friday OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Special Representative on Nagorno Karabakh conflict Goran Lennmarker. Asadov evaluated the special representativeâ€™s visit as important for learning of current situation in the region. â€œConflicts in the South Caucasus threaten the development and security of the region. August events in Georgia last year showed that delaying of settlement of such conflicts like Nagorno Karabakh could lead to the hard results. Taking into account the Azerbaijanâ€™s role and geopolitical position in the European energy security, it is not difficult to imagine how the new crisis will damage the Europeâ€™s interestsâ€.

Lennmarker said he witnessed the new condition in the region since last August. â€œThe soonest solution to the regional conflicts is a topical issue todayâ€.
