Elmar Mammadyarov receives Dutch Foreign Ministryâ€™s Director General for Political Affairs Peter de Hyer

Baku. Lachin Sultanovaâ€“APA. Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov received on Friday the Dutch Foreign Ministry Director General for Political Affairs Peter de Hyer, Press Service of the Foreign Ministry told APA. Current situation of the cooperation between the two countries was discussed at the meeting. Mammadyarov and De Hyer considered it expedient to hold regular political consultations, to intensify the reciprocal visits, to extend business and cultural relations and other fields.

The Dutch diplomat touched upon the processes in the South Caucasus and emphasized the importance of peace in the region and realization of the EU Eastern Partnership Program. He said the Netherlands fully supported this idea.

Minister Mammadyarov informed about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and said it could be resolved only within the territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of Azerbaijan. Mr. De Hyer said government of the Netherlands synonymously supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. The regional issues and other subjects causing mutual interests were also discussed at the meeting.
