Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. “In general OSCE does not observe referendums on constitutional amendments. It can only be reviewed when invited,†Rashad Huseynov,
Press and Public Information Officer of OSCE Office in Baku told APA. He said that Azerbaijan had not sent an official invitation to OSCE yet. Huseynov noted that OSCE had not been invited to observe the local elections in Azerbaijan in autumn, either.
“According to the law, member states, as well as Azerbaijan have no commitment to invite international organizations to observe the referendum,†he said.
According to Rashad Huseynov, no commitment will be violated, if Azerbaijan does not invite OSCE to observe the referendum. He also added that Azerbaijan had a commitment to invite OSCE to observe presidential and parliamentary elections.
