Azerbaijan and Kuwait sign five documents

The head of state met with Mohammad Thunayan Al-Ghanim, President of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They underlined that the two countries had good political relations and cooperation had extended within the framework of international organizations. They also said mutual economic-commercial relations did not meet the current potential and added that concrete measures should be taken for the expansion of the relations. They underlined the importance of taking concrete measures in terms of mutual investments, establishment of joint enterprises and expressed their confidence in the extension of the cooperation.

The President had a meeting with speaker of Kuwaiti parliament Jassem Mohammed al-Khorafi. They expressed their satisfaction with the development of the relations in various fields, touched on the importance of the interparliamentary relations and said there were good prospects to improve the cooperation.

Azerbaijani President met with Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah. They underlined the successful development of the relations between the two countries, good potential for the expansion of the economic relations and expressed their confidence that the relations would further extend.

Azerbaijanâ€™s President also met with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. They said the relations between the countries were developing and the political relations were perfect. The sides also spoke about the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in economy, trade, tourism and investment.
The heads of states exchanged views on the international and regional issues.

Emir of Kuwait Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah presented Ilham Aliyev the order of â€œMubarak Al-Kabeerâ€ and Ilham Aliyev in return awarded him with the order of â€œHeydar Aliyevâ€.

Afterwards, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah signed an agreement on establishment of joint commission for cooperation between the two countries. Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustfayev and Mustafa Jassem Al-Shamali, Finance Minister of Kuwait signed an agreement on mutual protection and promotion of investments between the two countries. Azerbaijani Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov and Mustafa Jassem Al-Shamali, Finance Minister of Kuwait signed an agreement on prevention of tax evasion and elimination of double taxation in connection with taxes regarding profits and property. Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustfayev and Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmad Baqer signed a trade agreement. Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev and Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmad Baqer signed an agreement on cooperation in tourism.
