PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh resumes activity

Strasbourg. Fouad Gulubeyli – APA. Within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) winter session, the Assembly’s Bureau discussed on Friday the resumption of the activity of subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh. According to APA European bureau, after the discussions the Bureau decided to resume the subcommittee’s activity and Spanish parliamentarian from Liberal Party Jordi Xucla i Costa was elected the chairman of the subcommittee. Armenia voted against the resumption of the subcommittee, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov told journalists on Friday.
Seyidov said PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan and Armenia, pro-government and opposition parliamentarians of both countries are in the subcommittee.
Seyidov said PACE would discuss the subcommittee chairman’s visit to the region in its April session.
