Azerbaijani President meets with President of Switzerland in Davos

Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey in Davos on January 27, APA reports. President of Switzerland said energy cooperation with Azerbaijan is of great importance for her country. She underlined that Switzerland is successfully cooperating with Azerbaijan’s relevant bodies and said Azerbaijan is an important partner for her country. Micheline Calmy-Rey underlined Azerbaijan’s role in the development of the South Corridor and said that Switzerland is interested in Trans-Adriatic pipeline and supports this project.
President Ilham Aliyev said bilateral relations between the countries are successfully developing in various spheres, including energy. The head of state said Azerbaijan supports the South Corridor projects, including Trans-Adriatic pipeline project.
President said there is successful energy cooperation with the European Union and expressed his satisfaction with Switzerland’s interest in the South Corridor projects.
The presidents exchanged views on the issue on the resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh.
