Chairman of European Court takes stance on considering of Azerbaijani IDPs’ pretension against Armenia
27 January 2011 12:23 (UTC +04:00)
Along with other issues, the chairman also responded questions on case “Chiragov and others against Armeniaâ€. He said that hearings were held at the European Court of Human Rights on September 15 of 2010 connected with two complaints having symmetric character: “You know, generally, civilians suffer from bitter results of conflicts. Some of the conflicts started in the 90th of last century remain “frozenâ€. Decision on the mentioned complaints will be passed until summer of this year. I do not want to take responsibility connected with the date. But complaints sent to the court by both sides are like interstate complaints, divergence of opinion stands in their roots. Hearing of such complaints does not correspond to functions of the European Court of Human Rights. Such political problems are solved easily in a political way not through the law. We are not the International justice Court. But if there are complaints in the court, we will consider them and make decisionâ€.
