Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus strongly reacted to the Armenian President’s remarks in Greek Cypriot parliament. APA reports quoting “Anadolu” agency that North Cyprus Foreign Minister Huseyin Ozgurgun made a written statement on it.

Strongly reacting on expression about occupation of Northern Cyprus by Turkey, the minister said that it occurred because Armenian President was unaware of the matter. “Our motherland Turkey had 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation within the framework of its rights and liabilities stemming from international treaties, and the operation had brought peace to the island and we once more remind Mr Sargsyan that this operation saved Turkish Cypriot people from annihilation. It is very paradoxial that the president of Armenia, which had invaded the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan for years without depending on any international agreements and totally violating international laws, had made those remarks that contradicted historical and legal facts”.
