Balsis noted that the settlement of “protracted conflicts would be the priority of Lithuania during its chairmanship: “The President and Foreign Minister are expected to visit to the Caucasus and other flash points. We need to learn the situation there, investigate and generally find the solution for the OSCEâ€.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė and Minister Audronius Ažubalis discussed the priorities and main concerns for the Lithuanian Chairmanship of the OSCE on January 3. Grybauskaitė stated that during its OSCE chairmanship Lithuania will work to achieve progress on the solution of “protracted†conflicts, and to strengthen the cooperation in the fight against new threats as well as energy isolation and cybernetic threats.
