According to Ali Ahmadov, Azerbaijan expects the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, including the US, to solve Nagorno Karabakh conflict fairly. He said the United States can make a positive influence on the process.

“The US is one of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group. There is no result in the activity of the Minsk Group that will satisfy us. The conflict has not been solved. Of course, its responsibility also falls on the US, one of the co-chairing countries,” YAP executive secretary underlined.

Ali Ahmadov noted that this is the main expectation of Azerbaijan from the new ambassador. The parliamentarian hopes that Bryza will do his best for the US to play a significant role in the solution of the conflict.

As regards the influence of the Armenian lobby to impede the appointment of ambassador to Azerbaijan, the parliamentarian said this is the affair between America and the Armenian lobby.
“America is a strong state. If Armenian lobby influences this state, this is not a good sign,” he said.

YAP executive secretary also commented on the discussion of the murder of former representative of the International Republican Institute in Azerbaijan John Alvis ten years later.
“There were some media reports about the causes of Alvis’ murder. It was also shown with which circles he had relations. The murder of a man causes regret. There were some disgusting moments in this case. I think you know it. Read the media reports of that time and see who he was, with whom he had relations,” he said.
