Samad Seyidov: â€œThere are many important, interesting and significant issues for Azerbaijan at the PACE January sessionâ€

Baku. Viktoriya Dementyeva â€“ APA. â€œThe January session OF Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly will be interesting. May be no such important session has been held for long timeâ€, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Samad Seyidov informed.

â€œNot only by the reason of discussion of the issue concerning Azerbaijan. You know that the issue on Azerbaijan will not be discussed separately, parliamentary elections will be discussed as report. But if we look at the agenda, we will see that the important, interesting and significant issues on Azerbaijani will be discussed at the sessionâ€ â€“ Seyidov said.

He also noted the reforms in the Council of Europe: â€œThe special committee has already been established on it in the Council of Europe. The report called â€œThe reforms of the Council of Europeâ€ will be presented at the session. The Council of Europe has to carry out reforms in side to meet the modern requirements, see the modern processes and assess them correctly. We repeatedly said to the Council of Europeâ€™s officials that we welcomed their beginning of these processesâ€.

Then, he noted the human rights as the next important issue on the agenda: â€œAzerbaijan will show its position during the discussion of this problem. Besides, the refugees and IDP problems are one of the issues on the agenda. Many issues on the journalists will be discussed at the session. We will also express our opinion on this issueâ€.

He also said that they would bring the Nagorno Karabakh issue into the agenda: â€œThere were not any session that we did not brought this issue into the agenda. Weâ€™ll do the same here, too. I think that we must bring into the agenda this problem, because the European deputies must know this realityâ€.

He also spoke about the European Parliamentâ€™s member Tomasz Porebaâ€™s visit to Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia: â€œAzerbaijan had expressed his opinion on this unpleasant incident, sharply. Nagorno Karabakh, the issues on Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity must always be on the agendas of OSCE and the other international organizationsâ€.
