“From now on we must pursue positive diplomacy in the relations with the US. The historians, not the politicians should deal with the historical events. Therefore we do not want the historical events to be made the tool of politics,” he said.

Ahmet Davutoglu thanked US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for expressing positive position on this issue.

To APA’s correspondent’s question “Armenia made the Zurich protocols ineffective through the Constitutional Court and did not give up its claims against Turkey. What do you think about it?” Turkish Foreign Minister said:
“We did not sign these protocols relying on the prospects. The aim is to normalize not only Turkey-Armenia relations, but also Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, bring peace to the South Caucasus. This process will last until the nations of the Caucasus respect one another and achieve peace. We will continue supporting the peace process in the Caucasus,” he said.

Minister said Turkey wants Nagorno Karabakh problem to be solved within the framework of the norms of the international law.
“We will do our best for this,” he said.
